War Tanks are extremely difficult to destroy, as most units won't deal much damage. On a high defense terrain tile, it may become even more difficult.
Anti-Tanks and other War Tanks are the best ground units for dealing with a War Tank. They are also vulnerable to Bombers, Seaplanes, Battle Copters, and Battleships.

- Like the Megatank in Advance Wars: Dual Strike, the War Tank in Advance Wars: Days of Ruin seems to be based on the Soviet T-35 Heavy Tank.
