Mission Information[]

This is the fourth level of Field Training in Advance Wars. Nell explains that Olaf has been keeping back Orange Star forces from retaking the Lost Fortress, including two tank units assigned to the battalion. During the battle, Nell explains how repairing and joining damaged units. Olaf hasn't fielded any new units but keep in mind that even if you and Olaf both have Tanks on the field, yours have sustained damage and may not last long in the battle without help.

Strategy[]

The mission introduces unit repairs and joining them together and Nell focuses you on the tanks' condition and how to retreat them to your cities to repair. Once on the 3rd day, she leaves the rest up to you. There shouldn't be any concern with capturing the cities in the match, even though you can win via HQ capture, as it's much easier to just rout the enemy. Bring your mechs forward, into the woods, to prepare for Olaf's tanks, blocking them at the bridge to buy time for your sole tank to repair back to full strength. If the two Infantry start threatening the HQ and city to the south, you can bring your rear guard to deal with them.

Once the tanks are destroyed, clean up duty on Olaf's remaining forces should be trivial with the tank at your command. Even if you don't strike back quickly, you can still get an S Rank by making up for it in Technique and Power.
