General

Nell (Japanese: キャサリン Catherine) is an Orange Star CO. She is also the player's instructor in field training and assists the player in Campaign by giving hints and strategical advice. Her little sister Rachel takes Nell's place as the player's advisor in Advance Wars: Dual Strike She has no real weaknesses whatsoever. Nell attended military school with Grit and Max, and it is implied that she had something going on with the former (presumably a relationship although it is not specifically stated if this was the case) while the latter possibly had feelings for her.

CO abilities

Her troops possess the increased Luck of 20%, which is quite high as most other COs have a Luck of 10%. Combine that with the Luck force rank you have a total of 30% luck and if you tag with Rachel Nell has 45% day-to-day luck, for any CO that's pretty scary!

CO power

Lucky Star - When you wish upon a star, you increase Nell's Luck to 60%. All of her units also get a 10% boost in defence, and in Advance Wars: Dual Strike they also get 10% boost in offence. Interestingly, in Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising her units are stated to damage multiple foes, though nothing of this sort ever actually happens.

Super CO power

Lady Luck - Ladies get all the breaks! This power raises Nell's Luck to 100%. All of her units also get a 10% boost in defence, and in Advance Wars: Dual Strike they also get 10% boost in offence. Interestingly, the in-game info of Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising states her units to damage multiple foes, though nothing of this sort ever happens.

Nell has Tag Breaks with the following COs:

• Rachel, 130%, "Windfall" (3 stars) One of the most overpowered tags in the game. It works well either way, and there's really not much to be said about this tag, other than that, if used against friends too often, you may find yourself without frieneds.

• Von Bolt, 90% Hhhhhhhhnnnnnn.... Von Bolt..... no like.... any of you!

In the first game,in CO Intel,it says that Olaf is the one that she dislikes basically,instead of the "unwilful cadets".

Tactics

This cannot be understated: luck cannot be relied upon! Sorry, but it's true! While your recons might (if they're unbelievably lucky) crush neotanks, bear in mind that luck is a fickle mistress, even with the Super Power (so that might be the end of your poor recon!) A solid strategy is to back her up with a CO that can do more consistent damage- like Rachel, for instance...

Counters

Nell is such a solid CO with so few weaknesses that it is hard to pin down one single counter for her abilities. In essence, exploit tactical gaps when her luck fails and try to trick her into overextending (that luck doesn't help her defense) and then ganging up on her units.
