Lab Rats^{(Days of Ruin)} or Final Experiment^{(Dark Conflict)} is the 25th and penultimate mission of Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. After completing the mission, Tabitha is unlocked as a playable Commander in Free Battle and multiplayer modes.

Story

Caulder and the mayor meet. The mayor claims that Caulder should live up to his promise of giving the vaccines if they followed Caulder's orders of giving Isabella. Unsurprisingly, Caulder lied the whole time. Additionally, Caulder gave the mayor the wrong syringe, killing the mayor.

Caulder and Cyrus meet. Due to Cyrus' defiance, Caulder injects a slow-acting poison into Cyrus, while Cyrus still defies Caulder until the very end, claiming that the forces will still defeat Caulder.

Tasha and Gage are left to fight the rest of the IDS forces with minimal troops. Tasha chastises Gage for saying that Will was right and that Caulder couldn't be trusted. At this stage, they decide to still wail against the forces, with Tabitha being the IDS CO of the battle.

Upon Day 3, however, it is revealed that while the Great Owl was destroyed, everyone had a safe landing. Penny defied Caulder's orders to crash the plane.

Upon defeat, Caulder condemns Tabitha and escapes. Tabitha is nowhere to be found.

Will finds a dying Cyrus. Cyrus tells Will to live, and he also tells Will where Caulder's main fortress is. Before he dies, Cyrus also mentions that Caulder has a cure for the Creeping Derengea in his base.

Strategy

This level may start out as very intimidating due to having lack of units from the start while your opponent have very powerful units. Additionally, you are fighting Tabitha without a CO. The layout of the map has a lot of meteors and plasma. In the meantime, just engage your opponent ONLY if you known that there are no counters against them. Otherwise, those units will be quickly destroyed.

Surprisingly, the briefing room section spoils that Will is alive. Take her advice and avoid destroying the meteors at all costs. Let your opponent waste their turns and ammo destroying those.

Once Day 3 occurs, you gain a lot of reinforcements of a total of 19 units. All of these units can move and attack this same turn. Now, you can push forward, but still remain cautious. Like before, however, just leave the meteors to the opponent to destroy.

Completing Lab Rats unlocks Trial Maps #8, D-Island and #14, Fragment Isles.
