General

Koal (Known as Zak in European version of the game) is a CO of the Black Hole army. He is said to be always planning his next destructive act. He is a master of Road battles. He also claims to be both warrior and a scholar. Rachel nicknames him "pasty-faced weirdo".

CO abilities

All of his units have 110% firepower on Roads, including Air Units. He also has an abnormally short CO power meter.

CO power

Forced march -  Koal flogs his Units forward, causing all of them to gain a movement bonus of 1 space. The on-Road bonus is increased to 120%. All of his Units also gain 10% firepower and defence bonus.

Super CO power

Trail Of Woe - Koal's Units are pushed harder than ever before, causing them to gain a movement bonus of 2 spaces. The on-Road bonus is increased to 130%. His Units also gain 10% offence and defence bonus.

Tag Breaks

Koal has Tag Breaks with the following COs:

• Jugger, 110%, "Power Surge" (2 stars) Charge them with Koal. Break them with Jugger.
• Kindle, 105%, "Flash Point" (1 star) Koal should lead the way, with his units making that one last desperate surge to bring them within range so that Kindle can unleash her aristocratic ire. Alternatively, Kindle can scatter the foe to the four winds, and Koal can pursue them to oblivion.
• Adder, 110%, "Creepy Crawly" (1 star) The fastest charging tag around. Your rockets will be able to skip through the forests while your enemy struggles to catch up. Lead with Koal to "plow the road" and follow up with Adder to spread out into the wilds.
• Rachel, 65%: Destroyed hometown? No. Dated in High School? No. Called a "Pasty-Faced weirdo"? OH YES!

Trivia

• Koal is believed to be based on the philosopher Sun Tzu, author of The Art of War.
• Even though the in-game description states his CO power meter to fill more rapidly than that of other COs, this is not the case.
• His road bonus also works for air units! Put this to good use next time when you're facing an anti-air with a bomber.
• He is also thought to be based on Adder because they are both movement based COs with short CO meters (the only differences being his boost on roads and his CO Power takes one more star to activate)
