Kanbei is a CO of Yellow Comet. He is the father of Sonja and the emperor of Yellow Comet. He is somewhat hotheaded. He deeply cares for his daughter is a bit overprotective of her. In all of his appearances, his ability was making all of his units more powerful, but a cost, made them more expensive. In all the advance wars titles his units had a 20% boost in offense and defense. The only exception is in Advance Wars 2 where it was increased to 30%. His Hit is Sonja and his Miss is Computers.

Kanbei is based off common stereo-types of Japanese emporers. Mainly his hair.
