Strategy

With their high movement and firepower, fighters are easily the best anti-air options available in the game. A small fighter contingent should dissuade enemies from recklessly using their bombers and battle helicopters. Fighters are, however, very expensive and speciallized, so their extensive use is rare.

Trivia

  • The Orange Star fighter resembles the F-15 Eagle. The same holds true for the Rubinelles (12th Battalion / NRA).
  • The Blue Moon fighter resembles the Mirage III.
  • The Yellow Comet fighter resembles the A6M Zero.

  • The Green Earth fighter resembles the A-10 Thunderbolt. Seaplanes from Days of Ruin resembles the A-10 too. In real life the A-10 is an air-to-ground attack aircraft.
  • (Advance Wars 1) The Yellow Comet fighter unit, despite not being made of jet planes, still make jet noises when it is moved around the map screen and when engaging in battle.
