Artillery are basic indirect units. Normally they can fire with a range of 2-3 spaces away. They cost 6,000 funds. CO Grit of Blue Moon is particularly skilled with these units, while Orange Star's CO, Max, is deficient with them.
Artilleries are about as strong as an APC defensively. They should always be kept hidden in Fog of War and away from the fighting.

Advance Wars: Days of Ruin[]
- Main article: Artillery (Days of Ruin)
Tactics[]
Although not as powerful as Rockets, Artillery units have several important advantages: They are much cheaper to build, have a lower minimum range, higher defense, carry more ammunition, and move on treads as opposed to tires. As a result, Artillery is by far the most commonly used indirect unit in competitive matches.
It is not advisable to build too many of them, because they are slower than direct units, as well as easily countered by Infantry spamming, B. Copters and Black Bombs. But the Artillery unit still remains a good way to damaging the enemy's Tanks and countering the occasional Md. Tank. They're good for defensive play, but make sure you protect your Artillery with plenty of Infantry and an offensive unit (like a Tank).
On maps that lack airports, it becomes a viable strategy to play as Grit and build masses of Artillery, along with Infantry to form a defensive wall. Without air support, it becomes much more difficult to break through Grit's defenses, enabling his Artillery to steadily advance across the map while blasting anything in their path.
Trivia[]
- The Orange Star's and Rubinelle's artillery resembles the American M109 Paladin self-propelled howitzer.
- Although based on Russia/USSR, the Blue Moon's artillery resembles the German Hummel self-propelled artillery.
- However, in Reboot Camp, the design is revamped to have a closed top design which it somewhat resembles 2S19 Msta.
- The Lazurian Army/IDS's artillery resembles the Russian SU-76 self-propelled gun/tank destroyer.
- Green Earth artillery is somewhat resembling a Jagdpanther tank destroyer, despite the latter is neither an assault gun nor an artillery.
