Missiles

Anti-Air Missile Launchers of each force from AW2.

These powerful indirect combat units wreak havoc on air units, however they cannot attack land or naval units. They have a minimum range, so they should always be covered by tanks or other directs. Their vision range on Fog of War maps is also quite large. In Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, they are dubbed missiles.

Strategy

Although they do possess a powerful attack and long range, Missiles are not particularly useful in most scenarios, and are outclassed by Anti-Airs in most fields. Missiles are much more expensive, less manuverable, more difficult to target, and cannot move and target in the same turn (a crucial disadvantage against every air unit). They also don't do that much more damage than anti-airs, which normally OHKO most air units anyway. They are best used in island warfare with no ships available, where planes are the only ways to assault bases.
