Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp is a remake of Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, and the fifth game in the Advance Wars Series of games. It is also the first Advance Wars game to release on the Nintendo Switch platform, and in a departure from previous installments, it is produced by developer WayForward. The key differences between Re-Boot Camp and the original games are the new art style, re-recorded soundtrack, the use of 3D graphics, and the addition of online versus functionality.
Re-Boot Camp contains the full campaigns of Advance Wars and Black Hole Rising. Units and gameplay mechanics introduced in Black Hole Rising, such as Super CO Powers and Neotanks, are restricted to that campaign. For offline and online versus battles, players can choose between the Advance Wars or Black Hole Rising rulesets.
The game was originally set to be released on December 3, 2021, but it was delayed twice. It was initially pushed back to April 8, 2022,[1] but the outbreak of the Russo-Ukrainian War in February 2022 caused Nintendo to delay it again until further notice.[2]
