Advance Wars (game) is a turn-based strategy video game developed for the Game Boy Advance by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo in 2001. It was released in the USA on September 9 2001, but put on hold in Japan and Europe due to the subsequent terrorist attacks in the USA. Although released in Europe in January 2002, neither GBA game was released in Japan until the Game Boy Wars Advance 1+2 compilation on November 25 2004.

Plot
Field Training
The game starts out with the player being told by Nell, an Orange Star CO, that Olaf of the Blue Moon army is invading Orange Star land. The player is then charged with defeating him.This is the game's tutorial.

Campaign
This part of the game starts with Advisor being introduced to Andy, another Orange Star CO. The objective is still to defeat Olaf. It then continues with Advisor and Andy fighting several Grit, then Eagle of Green Earth. After the fight with Eagle Max is introduced. The player is then given the choice of going either northeast, with Andy, or east with Max.
