A Storm Brews(Days of Ruin) or Storm Clouds(Dark Conflict) is the eleventh mission in Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. It introduces basic naval combat along with the Gunboat and Lander to the player.

Story

A year has passed since the meteors fell and people are arriving at the shelter at a steady rate, even though the shelter is now over capacity. The refugees that are coming speak of a war raging in the north, which has Brenner confused as to why such a thing is happening. Will then reports that ships have been seen and that Rubinelle Army survivors are under attack. Davis then shouts for help over the radio and Brenner replies. Davis states that the Lazurians are attacking.

Strategy

Using the lander on the shoreline the commander should transport both the Rocket and Medium Tank to the peninsula in the center and drop them near the city, with the Rocket to the direct North of it. The infantry and Mech units should be subsequently loaded into the nearby Gunboats. Engaging the enemy Gunboat between two shores should be your first priority; an opening volley from the Gunboat unoccupied with troops should damage it badly and it will be forced to reload. Using the Rig to reload your ships' missile volleys will be crucial, and it's a good idea to have it build a Temp. Port to repair them. It's likely that Tasha's Cruiser will attack whatever ship is closest, so be sure to have it within firing range of your Rocket unit to hit it hard and finish it off with any of your Gunboats. From here it will be in your best interest to use the bottleneck of the Southern part of the map for enemy units to come to you single file, so use a combination of the Rocket, tanks and Mech to fight the Lazarian ground forces off. From here the rest is cleanup; Davis' units might be attacked by a small landing party, but it will likely resolve on its own. Keep watching the ranges and ammo of enemy Gunboats so you can engage effectively. Alternatively you can use your Landers to cut off forces with a landing party of your own in the center South, or to drop an infantry to capture the HQ.
