A Kind of Home^{(Days of Ruin)} or A Place to Live^{(Dark Conflict)} is the seventh mission in Advanced Wars: Days of Ruin, introducing Waylon, the Lazurians, and the war between Rubinelle and Lazuria that has not ceased even after the meteor strikes.

Story[]

The discovery of the Creeping Derengea virus is ill news for the 12th Battalion, and their food supply is running out. The destruction of the crop factory has hurt their plans for survival. However, Isabella informs them of a hidden nuclear shelter with such facilities with unusually precise coordinates before a headache cuts her short at the mention of "IDS".

At that moment, recon units return to inform the group that a Rubinelle air unit is being attacked, and the 12th Battalion moves to rescue it.

Strategy[]

The enemy has a lot of aerial units, but you also have a lot of anti-air units, so positioning is the key. Missiles can attack or move, but not both. Take advantage of your first turn to destroy the bomber and damage the Duster with an anti-air. If you keep your Missiles in the same place, an enemy fighter will likely go in range of one. The enemy likes to play aggressively with her Dusters, but they have a relatively weak attack versus most units. However, don't forget that the enemy also has some ground forces. Send in your tank onto the upper path so it can take on the enemy tank while moving slowly on the bottom half. You only have one air unit but a battle copter does a lot of damage to ground units so try to keep it away from enemy fighters and dusters as they will make short work of it. If anything, this fight might just go a little slow because the enemy will try to avoid your Anti-airs unless a bomber can get the first strike on one. You might even be able to capture the HQ faster since Fighters cannot attack ground units; just take out any Dusters or potential threats nearby.
